November 17 is Craft Day. The Maison Cauchie invites you to discover the Art Nouveau sgraffito technique, a speciality of the Ateliers Cauchie during the Belle Époque.

The Cauchie House is taking you out for a series of original Art Nouveau walks! Discover the original Art Nouveau sgraffitos in Brussels, around the Cinquantenaire Park and in Saint-Gilles and Ixelles, and also in Mechelen and Tournai.
In Belgium, there are so many sgraffito decorations to admire on our streets. Townhouses, shops, public buildings, … But how is sgraffito made? Where does it come from? And who made those beautiful designs? During this walk, our guide will take you on an exciting tour to learn about the fascinating history of La Belle Epoque and its buildings.

The unmissable annual event spanning three weekends, the ninth edition of the Brussels Art Nouveau & Art Deco Festival will take place on March 14 & 15; 21 & 22, and 28 & 29, 2026. The BANAD Festival invites you to discover remarkable locations showcasing the Art Nouveau and Art Deco architecture of the Brussels-Capital Region.
This year, Maison Cauchie will be open on March 28 & 29 for two days of visits. Reserve your tickets from February 3 via BANAD Festival.

🖌️La Maison Cauchie is the joint creation of a couple of artist-decorators, Paul and Lina Cauchie. Lina Cauchie, a talented painter, was also one of the first women to study at the Académie des Beaux-Arts of Brussels.
👩🦰During the visit organized in the frame of BANAD Festival, visitors will learn more about Lina Cauchie’s artistic journey and the place of female artists during the Art Nouveau era.
